Abnormal amount of spacing between words on different lines

Community Beginner ,

My issue is that with photoshop every time I hit enter to create a new line for words, the ammount of space between them is very large, even with the spacing set to auto (even 6pt has alot of spacing between each word). As you can see in the attached screenshot, the canvas is 1080px by 1080px and I have it enter only once after each word and there is alot of spacing. How do I get it to go back to having the wording be closer together after hitting enter.

Two other things to try are:

1. With the Type Tool selected reset the Type Tool by right clicking on the big T icon on the lefthand side

of the tool options bar and clicking Reset Tool

2. If that doesn't work then the next step would be resetting the photoshop preferences by going

to Edit>Preferences>General clicking on Reset Preferences On Quit and restarting photoshop.
