Accessing font glyphs

Hi!  I use a lot of fonts in my work, and many of these fonts have additional glyphs.  I can, of course, access the regular fonts, but I cannot access the the extra glyphs.  I have new iMAC - replacing my 5-year-old iMAC.  There was a keyboard icon on my menu bar which, I believe, allowed me to view the glyphs from the font I was using.  I can't get that little icon up - nor can I fugure out how to access the additional glyphs.  Any ideas?  Thanks- Marilyn

All Adobe apps have a way of accessing Glyphs. Photoshop's is under Type > Panels > Glyphs.

I just purchased Elements and the dropdown menu under Layer then Type doesn't have Panels as an option....?

I'm not sure how Elements works - sorry.  But for Photoshop, on the Menu bar, click on Type > Panel > Glyphs Panel and the glyphs do appear.  Good luck with Elements!
