Action that places nameplate in border

Community Beginner ,

I know how to make an action to create a border around my images, but I'm confused regarding how I also add a name plate to the border. How would the action know where to place the name plate in a vertical image vs. horizontal?  How do I determine the size of the text?

Conditional actions can work with portrait vs. landscape orientation.

The main issue is that unless the text exists as separate images, an action will not be able to create variable text content. A script or image variables/data driven graphics would be required.

It was straightforward enough, and there was no problem with vertical images. I created an action: Canvas Size,  Make Text Layer,  Merge Layers, Save. I didn't bother making a nameplate that is a separate file. However, it would be nice if I wanted to add a logo.

Not sure what your problem is exactly.

If you want to ensure that your text or logo or whatever object is aligned properly, let’s say to the bottom, try this:

Record a step to align object to bottom edge. One way to do this is to select all then > align bottom edges > then move object for a certain amount of pixels. Set Ruler to Pixels before recording movement. If you want to move by percent, then set Ruler to Percent.

You can also record a step to center object.
