Actions listed in columns

I use actions in Button mode in a (are the still called) pallet in my workspace.  They used to be listed in a single column.  Recently (month?) they began being listed in columns by rows.  This is confusing and they repeat the actions so they don't appear in the same place every time.  Sometimes it's several columns, sometimes two, sometimes the original one -- they seem to change randomly.

How do I stop this and get them listed in the original one column way consistently?

They should stay in one column if you do not resize your window.

Here are two views of the 5 column version I get.  Most of the time I get this but other times I get a 2 column version and  rarely I get the correct 1 column version.

The first of these images is how it looks.  In the second I've colored sections of the same image to group things that don't group.

Once your screen is set up as you like, you should save a workspace. For me the only way I get to more than one column is if I resize the column. I will admit is hard to position the cursor between the columns to change the tool to the resize column tool. Please watch the video so you can see how this function, and let us know how yours is working differently.

We are not understanding hwo you are getting to the point of ghjaving more than one column. Do you restart the app and it shows up differtently than you last quit. How  many monitors do you have, please describe your setup.

To change the order of buttons, you need to exit button mode and rearrange the action, they show in the order you arrange them.

Hard to say.  The appearance of 1, 2,or 5 columns is random. I guess so because I've restarted the program many times and I get the various ones.

One.

To change the order of buttons . . .

I'm happy with the order in the correct one column presentation.

Apologies Youtube defaults to private video and takes many clicks to find how to make public.

Can you please tell us when you notice your columns resize, does this happen when you switch apps, or do you see this happen live. Your post dos not give us much to go on to be to discern whether this is coming from:"

  1. Another app on your computer is conflicting with Phtoshop and resizing these columns
  2. You might be doing this an not realizing you are resizing the column
