Jun 12, 2025 Jun 12, 2025

I am so frustrated.  My Actions are stalling and not working right.  I can run 1 photo edit and save then when I start the next photo they will no longer work correctly. It will stall the whole program for a few minutes.     I have updated everything possible.  Reinstalled photoshop , reloaded the actions and searched everywhere so solutions.  Please help

Based on the scant information you have provided, no one here can help. Therefore, all proposed solutions are a look into the crystal ball.

Is only one action affected or all?

What does the action should do?

Do you get any messages during the action is running?

Please provide a copy of your 'System Info'. This can be get from the Photoshop menu item Help > System Info. There's a copy button in the System Info dialog. Press this button and paste the info into your next forum post.

In the meantime try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps described here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#reset-preferences

It's recommended to backup your settings before resetting the preferences.

See here:  https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#backup-photoshop-preferences

Could you additionally please post screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Options Bar, …) and the fully expanded Action in the Actions Panel visible?

We need more information to assist you. Do you run batch processes or single actions on individual photos? What exactly is not working? Could you please describe the issue? Additionally, as @c.pfaffenbichler  suggested, it would be helpful to include a video or screenshots.
