Actions Scripting bug saving .jpg from Adobe RAW

I've discovered a bug:

Open a Camera RAW file. Edit in Raw or simply Open in Photoshop...

Run really simple Action: (resize and save as JPG without "copy" in name)...

The JPG won't save, instead a dialogue box opens asking to save a .PSD file...

Run the same Action on a flattened JPG and it works fine.

I process 1000 images every week.

Re: Actions Scripting bug saving .jpg from Adobe RAW

Actions and Scripts are different things, so which is it?

If an Action, post a screenshot with all steps expanded/visible and the panel wide enough to view all content.

If a Script, post the code.

This has absolutely nothing to do with my post

The new photoshop save procedure is STILL appending copy to image names, even with the file handling preference "Do not append "copy" to filename when saving a copy" selected. Same goes for when using Enable Legacy  "Save As".... it appears the ACTION just disregards the preference and adds copy anyway.

Really annoying. I run actions a lot. Thousands and thousands of images saved daily. Basic actions to complex multi-scripts.

Also...

Open a Camera RAW file. Edit in Raw or simply Open in Photoshop...

Run really simple Action: Resize and save as JPG without "copy" in name.

Photoshop won't save the JPG file and wants to save a PSD...

If I open a JPEG and run the same Action, it works fine.

I edited my script to use the Export -> Save for Web (legacy), then save as a JPG, which works, but seems kind wonky.

Have the exact same issue.  Contacted Adobe yesterday.  Unable to resolve.  They told me to report it to be fixed.

I also go through hundreds of RAW files then save as 'jpeg'.  Now it saves as another photo.  So im closing the original file to open the saved jpeg.  An extra step that was never needed until this recent update.

How do you resize an image? If you're using the crop tool for this, make sure the "delete cropped pixels" option is enabled.

The standard functionality of Camera RAW allows you to a) crop the image b) resize it c) save it as a JPG. Formally, you can do everything you need without opening the file in Photoshop.
