Question

Adjustment layers sliders extreme lag

I didn't have this problem before the file size is only 3GB and all the sliders especially the hue and saturation are extremely laggy or non-responsive. I tried everything that I could find on google, resetting the preferences, changing every setting in performance. My PC is not the issue, the graphics card is powerful enough, I have enough RAM. It used to work just fine.  The last project I worked on was 13 GB and I had nowhere near this problem, it was there at times but that is understandable with such a large file this is only 3GB.
My workflow has stopped, but after reading quite a bit of similar complaints it seems this is a recurring issue, or it could be a case of selection bias... I know you guys/gals work hard updating photoshop sometimes it seems like you fix 1 problem and 10 others appear.

Is there a solution for this?

The problem is back, normal adjustment layers work but floating adjustments lag and freeze photoshop.

Sweat potato on a broomstick, moving everything to a new document fixed the problem completely. The sliders of the floating hue/saturation adjustment are working smoothly. Thank you very much. Have a nice day.

Weird that floating is windows causes the problem. I was going to suggest copying your layers over into a new document and see if it's still happening.

I found out that this happens only when I use adjustments with the floating windows and the problems don't appear with normal adjustment layers.

Thank you for your response, I have isolated the problem it's the file. But as I mentioned before I have worked and often work with very large files, they only become laggy when they are near 10GB. So why is it that I could before work with large files and why is it that this problem appears now when I am nowhere near the GB that the lagging started to happen.

Can you test a different document to see if you have the same problem? Create something new and try it. Narrow down is it PS or your file.
