Adjustment Panel New Behavior (that is constantly in the way)

In PS 2023 when you click on an adjustment layer the text widow to adjust the first modifyable text input gets activated now.  It will also activate if you add a mask to a layer. (I am using 24.7.0)

This has been driving me crazy as I am constantly trying to do keyboard commands and having to slam on escape to get my keyboard commands to be usable.  Is this is permanat feature? Is there any rolling back on this in updates or in settings?
