Adjustments > Match Color turns some layers black

Community Beginner ,

When I go to > Adjustments > Match Color and try to match two layers, sometimes the destination layer turns black when I use a certain layer as a source, but does not do so when I use another layer as a source. The source layers are not black and there seems to be no rhyme or reason regarding which layers this happens to, and which layers this does not. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Can you post some screenshot with Layers panel and Match Color dialogue visible?

Hi, same problem here. I tried to restart computer/photoshop, update photoshop, try it on a different image- nothing helps.

I forgot to add, the layers do turn black, this time around the layer turned to a very noisy mess but when I play with the 'fade' slider it does that on the black layer anyway. It goes from black, to noisy, to white
It seems like it's a new issue with the latest update- I am very proficient in colour matching.
Also happens to me every single time, not intermittently.

Regards

Looks like someone else has the same problem we do, and there may be a solution:

Disclaimer: I still haven't tried this out yet. I just found this other thread.
