Getting this error box when trying to run Photoshop for the first time after a fresh install. I read a thread in these forums about removing a AAMDetect internet plugin and followed those instructions but I am still getting this error.

The link in the error box just takes me to the CC page, so I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Creative Cloud app.

Which is strange as I've never had any issue installing Photoshop in over 30 years.

MacPro 3,1 2x4 Xeon 2.88 32GB RAM

MacOS 10.14 Mojave

Photoshop CC19 offline installer

Thanks

Hi @influxxmedia where did you get the installer? It might help to read this page from ProDesign Tools on using the offline installers:

Okay, ne vermind, different thread. Trying to install CC22 via the CC app and that is giving me a different error.

In this case, regarding the CC19 offline installer, I got it from the site you link to above - ProDesignTools.com

And to add further detail, steps I have taken to try to gain access to this mysterious 'critical file':

- Reset permissions for the entire drive

- Turne off firewall and any other protections

- Disabled SIP

Hi @influxxmedia error code 41 means your logged in computer account is not an admin and you are restricted from writing files to system folders. Check to make sure your computer account (not Adobe) is granted admin access.

No I’m pretty sure that not correct. Not in my case. That may be an official catch all excuse but it’s not the true reason.

let me explain

i have taken many measures to ensure I have full access to any areas of my system the installer might need. I’m always logged in as an admin, pointless otherwise

- reset all permissions giving me ownership or admin rights

- added ‘installer.app’ to Full Drive Access in System Security prefs

- disabled SIP from Recovery mode

- booted into root user to run installer

really can’t get much more admin than that, so no, something else is going on
