Adobe Camera Raw - Batch Layers?

Hello..

I'm trying to learn if there's a way to make a layer for multiple images in CR for CC adjustment.

For example, after adjusting 1,000 images for a consistent look with exposure, contrast, etc., I'd then like to make further basic, global adjustments all the images.

So what I'm looking to do is reset the sliders for all images to "0" to a 2nd adjustment layer, so when I go back and make further basic adjustments, they all share the same change of values.

I hope I explained this well enough.

Any help is appreciated.

What you want to do is incompatible with the design of “non-destructive parametric editing” in ACR… These are not adjustment layers as in Photoshop. You would need to “render or bake in” the adjustments to a saved format, then go back in at a second pass and process the saved images a second time which is less than ideal.

Thanks Stephen. I wasn't sure if the 1st pass adjustments needed to be baked and re-open (agreed not ideal), which you've pointed out that it would. I was hoping this was optional in ACR. Again, but thank you much for clarifying this.

Not a problem. It is the same in Photoshop, if you add an adjustment layer and pull a curve or slider, you can’t expect to edit the same adjustment layer again and reset the slider to another new position while retaining the original position as well. You can of course add two adjustment layers in Photoshop, however ACR does not work this way.

You can sort of work this way in Photoshop by applying the Camera Raw Filter to a smart object multiple times, however the preview is going to be incorrect until you are finished editing the secondary adjustment, you will be flying blind… However the Camera Raw Filter on rendered data is not exactly the same as working directly in ACR on raw data and then saving/opening into Photoshop.

First off, thank you JMack & Silk..

I'm familiar in adjusting multiple files at the same time, or applying changes to multiple files via "option+s"

However, I'm looking for a further option.

Let's say I have 4000 images shot in the same environment, but each image needed different basic settings applied in order to get them looking naturally consistent.

Once I have a consistency with all files, I'd like to option to then make further adjustments globally.

[ex. After (4000) images have been adjusted, if I want to further increase the exposure by 50% uniformly, it would not share the same values and lose consistency because some maybe needed -4 or other images +4 in exposure, etc]

So what I'd like, is an option to create a second adjustment layer (or something similar) that would reset the sliders to "0" for the image.

Then if I want to go in an make further adjustments to a setting, it would continue to keep the consistency on top of the 1 pass adjustments.

Sounds like an adjustment using a percentage rather than a fixed amount. Otherwise known as relative vs absolute. If I am not mistaken, Lightroom can do that, but its been awhile.

In Adobe Camera Raw, you can open multiple image and adjust them all at the same time.

To Add to the You can adjust one image if the all have similar exposures.  After you adjust the one image you can select all the other with similar exposures and have ACR sync they setting you made to all to the other images.  ACR can also stitch images and merge to HDR bracketed images.

ACR does not have it own layer support It will create Smart Object Layer or  a background layers  for a RAW file  and optionally for Jpeg and Tiff File I do not even  know if ACR Supports  Layered Tiff Files it may just use the Tiff  Full composite.   It open a background layer or smart object layer. ACR can also Filter a layer  as a smart filter or normal filter
