Question

Adobe Camera Raw now supports 32 bit output?

In the past when opening 32bit image you had no way to use Filters > Adobe Camera Raw only could use ACR to convert to 16 bit, however now its enabled and able to use ACR as filter for 32 bit image without converting them to 16 bit. It was related to fact that ACR could not save 32 bit images.

Did Adobe change ACR to support 32 bit output?

There is the Adobe Camera Raw plug-in which opens raw camera image files outside of Photoshop and renders them into data that Photoshop can use (either directly into Photoshop as an unsaved doc or directly saving to a file)... Then there is the Camera Raw Filter, which is only available inside Photoshop for rendered data (not raw).

There is limited support for 32-bit in ACR:

I thought Camera Raw Filter simply passing the image from Photoshop to Adobe Camera Raw plugin, because interface is exactly the same, and when you click setting in you get Camera Raw Filter it shows Adobe Camera Raw version, so one can make conclusion that its same ACR plugin at work for both opening RAW files and Camera raw filter.

Limited 32bit support does not explain anything, its there or its not or what are the limitations?

Could you explain why i am having this bug with colors after running Camera Raw filter second time on 32bit image?

I guess ACR has not learned to save 32bit yet, after opening 32bit image and applying ACR as filter i get nice looking image,

then i tried to apply ACR as filter second time and as soon as image is loaded in ACR it looks way different than it looked in photoshop.
