You mean things like:

• If the brush cursor suddenly becomes a dot, then you have Caps Lock on.
• If you set a layer's Fill Opacity to zero, the layer disappears, but any layer styles applied to it still show.
• If Displacement Maps are not working, you probably don't have 'Maximise Compatability' set to Always in Preferences.
• If you need to use Free Transform on a layer, always make it a Smart Object so its corner handles stay in the same place if you need to edit it.
• If things have gone weird, check the Options Bar.
• If the Brush tool is not working, and its opacity is definitely not set to zero, check it's blend mode.
• If you are wondering where your shapes, patterns and brush presets have gone, use the drop down in the top right of the panel, and chose load defualts (or similar).

BTW  the two YouTube channels that Kevin recommended are as good as it gets.   I'll add PHlearn with Aron Nace  and for really basic content that assumes you are a complete beginner Blue Lightning TV.  But please feel free to ask as many questions as you like on this forum.
