Please post some of the images in question. 

In my experience even well photographed images (so none of the »curly hair in front of wold vegetation«-stuff) do require some manual amendation to automatically created masks (be it Photoshop’s default features or from others like remove.bg). 

But actually that depends not only on the images but also on the expectations/use-cases for the resulting images.
