AI “check internet connection” error

On photoshop and photoshop beta since upgrading from my iPad to a MacBook Pro, whenever I try to use generative ai it says it's unable to do it and to check my internet connection. I am however able to do it on my iPad with the same connection and have no issues. I would like to be able to use it on desktop though as it interrupts my workflow having to switch devices.

What I have done so far:

checked internet connection

signed out and back in

uninstalled and reinstalled

checked for updates

checked my firewall is off

made sure it's opening with Rosetta (tried with and without)

downloaded older versions of photoshop

nothing is working.

on a MacBook if you go to applications - photoshop 2024 - plug ins - generative.

that folder is empty, is it meant to be empty? Is this why it's not working?

Please help. Thank you

@Loïc Vareille Check your firewall or Windows Defender settings to make sure Adobe, Firefly and Photoshop are allowed.

@roxannebetty AI features will not run in Rosetta mode. Make sure you are running in native mode.

Second, when you say you disabled your firewall - did you do so on your router (not your Mac)?

Rosetta mode is off. Native mode is that something I need to find or is it automatic if Rosetta mode is unchecked? I have disabled firewall on my mac and turned the safety off on my router and checked and it still comes up with "Check internet connection" when trying to us AI.

@roxannebetty yes Native mode is when Rosetta is off. Not sure what "Safety Mode" is on the router - but try turning the firewall off altogether on your router (temporarily). There should be settings in the router to allow/block URLs.
