All prints defaulting to letter size.

Hello. I'm running Photoshop CC 21.2.4 on Mac OS 10.14.6 and printing to a simple Epson 2720 desktop printer.

No matter what paper size settings I choose in the "Photoshop Print Settings" and/or the underlying "Print settings" dialogs, I'm getting prints scaled down as if they were scaled to fit 8.5 x 11 size paper.

For example: At the moment I'm simply trying to print a piece of artwork formatted for legal size (8.5 x 14) paper and no matter what I do it comes out shunken down to 8.5x11.

I should mention that I am a graphic artists and print professional with overt 25 years experience using the full Adobe suite since the early 90's as well as many, many models of printers, including many simple Epson home printers like this one. I've never seen anything linke this before. I'm not attempting to wrangle color management or print on specialty paper or anything fancy. I'm simply trying to print documents at their actual print size on the media size that I choose in the print dialog.

This is ususally as simple as choosing File > print > choose paper size > hit print...

I attached a sample screenshot of the basic print dialogs.

Any clue as to what could be going on here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Try changing to manually pull from tray.

Also download the latest print driver,. If that dont work go to your printer ann see if there is an auto select so pulls from correct tray is set up correct;y.

Thanks for the suggedtions Mike.

This printer does not have a tray. It only has a single rear-feed. The driver is the latest version. It's a cheap, simple but brand new & modern printer with drivers just installed days ago.

I can add that this issue is isolated to the Adobe suite. Various adobe apps manifest the issue in slightly differing ways but all of them result in this error (shown in screenshot).

For example: From PS, the print will come out 8x11 no matter what, from AI I can address the error on the actual printers screen and force it to legal size. The printer itself displays a similar error to the screenshot and offers to correct the paper size. Works for Ai but not PS. From PS, even aftr telling the printer to resolve the conflict, the print comes out shunken down to 8.5 x 11. Obviously, there should be no conflict in the first place.

All other apps (MS Office suite for example) do not have any similar issue, docs just print at the chosen size as they should. With those apps, the printer just obeys the chosen media size and prints with no errors, warnings, interventions or failures.

The Adobe apps seem to conflict with the default (8.5 x 11) setting in the printer. If I change the printers default to legal, the probelem still persists. If I tell the printer to resolve the conflict the problem persists. In any case, No one should have to dig through the settings on the printer to tell it what size paper you're using. That data is set in the print dialog & the printer should just obey. It's a strange issue. Never seen anything like it. I've been after it for days.
