Question

Anchor Points Have Disappeared

I'm fairly new to Photoshop and just tried creating some vector shapes to animate with. I formed all my shapes on a few different layers and have turned the layers into smart objects. I followed all the steps of the course I'm learning from, but when I go to open a couple of the layers as a smart object I can no longer manipulate the anchor points with the convert point tool, and the anchor points have disappeared entirely. I can transform the shape but I can't clean up the edges. The weird thing is I can still find the achnor points and manipulate them on most of the other layers in the saem project apart from 2 of them. Have tried seaching all over the web for help but nothing seems to bring the anchor points back.

Also it's worth noting that I've tried going to View/Show/Layer Edges but that just create a blue square around the shape and doesn't reveal the anchor points of the shape itself.

With which Tool/s did you create the affected (supposed) Shape Layers?

Could you have set one like the Circle Tool to »Pixels« instead of »Shape« or »Path« inadvertently?

Why do you need to convert the Shape Layers to Smart Objects exactly in this course?

Since you have made Smart Object out of the vector shapes, you will need to edit the SO. Double-click the icon for the SO in the Layers panel to open it, make the edits, then close the SO to return to your file.

Could you please post a screenshot with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Paths, Options Bar, …) visible and the Path selected with the Direct Selection Tool?
