Question

Animator's toolbar missing, unable to reinstall extension

I installed the extension from the adobe exchange site, but it doesn't show on Photoshop Windows>Extensions.

So I tried to install it again with the Anastasiy's extension manager, and here comes the funny thing: Anastasiy shows me the message "There is already an extension installed with that name. Please uninstall it first and then try again." But it doesn't recognize the extension as "installed" either, it isn't there!

I cannot unistall it with Anastasiy because it won't show. I uninstall it by the adobe exchange site, waited 2 minutes and tried again, nothing.

It keeps telling me it's installed but it won't show anywhere.

Is there any way to erase an extension manually? I'm on an iMac

Hi Mar Quintana,

Great to hear you acquired my panel, I'm sorry to hear you're having some trouble getting it to work.

Let me try to help you figure this out. First a few questions about your system:

  1. What platform are you on? Windows or Mac?
  2. What version of the Animator's Toolbar are you installing, Free or Pro?
  3. What version(s) of Photoshop do you have installed on your computer?

The free versions is compatible up until Photoshop CC 2017 and won't show up in higher versions.

Try to uninstall via the creative cloud first. Give the Creative Cloud app enough time to get in sync.

Restarting the Creative Cloud app or your computer will force the app to sync.

You can now try the Anastasiy Extension Manager again, either to remove or to install.

If this does not work you can try to remove the files manually. (I need to know your platform/os before I can help you with this).

Hope this helps,

Kind regards,

Patrick Deen

Hello, I just read that the free version doesn't work from 2018? Why is it still available in this case?
I would like to install animators toolbar on photoshop 2020 but it's a real hell !! I'd like to see first that it works with the free version before investing in the pro. I hope you will be able to answer me soon enough!
Thanks for your help

Hi Patrick
Thank you very much for your prompt response!
If i understand correctly, it won't work in free mode.
No worries, from what i've seen of this extension, it looks great and i thought i would invest this "calculated risk" ^^
But, I wouldn't encounter the same problem on the Pro version?

Thanks again for your answer,
I hope to be able to work fully with your extension soon!

The free version was last updated in februari 2019 (and is no longer compatible with the latest version of Photoshop), development of the pro version is ongoing based on feedback, reviews and new ideas. You shouldn't run into the same problem as with the free version but if you do, just reach out and we probably get it working asap... fingers crossed 🙂
