Apple Color Emoji Font Causing Error Message (Photoshop2024)

Im in a bit of a bind. Apple color emoji doesn't seem to be supported by photoshop 2024. My issue is not that I'm trying to add emojis to a project but that this font is at the top of the font selection list, and merely hovering over the option causes adobe to give me an error message that reads:

"Selected font failed during last operation. If problem persists, please disable the font."

I can't disable the font outright via apple fontbook bc it is a system font, and adobe seems to manage system>program font linking internally and out of reach from users. I checked out adobe fonts but that didn't seem promising. How do I disable this font for adobe programs?
