I just started using sidecar and am testing out drawing in Photoshop. I have to press really hard with the Apple Pencil to make marks. I've tried adjusting brush settings in PS which helped a little, but it just doesn't have the drawing feel as working directly on the iPad with the iPad version of PS or other programs like Procreate, Adobe Fresco etc.
My main reason for using sidecar/laptop combo rather than the iPad version of PS is that I am animating and need the timeline and other extensions that aren't available in the iPad app (to my knowledge).
Any work arounds or updates that might solve this?

I'm experiencing a problem identical to what you describe on PS 21.0.0 and Catalina 10.15.2.

Hi
Photoshop is not listed as one of the supported apps for sidecar.

The workaround would be to use the desktop version of Photoshop.

I know this was 4 years ago but I had the same issue with the pencil only making a mark when I pressed hard while using desktop Adobe Ps on my ipad Pro 3rd gen with sidecar from a 2022 Macbook Air. I played around with brush settings and found that if I adjust the minimum brush diameter in dynamics, I could easily adjust the default brushes in photoshop to make ones that work better with sidecar. I found that the smaller the size (like a sketching mark) is better with higher percentage (15 ish) while bigger brushes are better with 4-6%. My pressure sensitivity works a lot better now, although it is annoying to make all these new brushes. Maybe someone has a brush pack specifically for this but I havent looked. Hope this helps anyone with the same question.
