Application Error

New Here ,

Hi,

I'm having an issue launching Photoshop CC 2018 on windows 10.

When the end user opens it gives the error "The instruction at 0x00007FFC9E7565A0 referenced memory at 0x00007FFC9E7565A0. The memory could not be written. Clock ok to terminate the program" (see attached image below)

The user is a member of the administrators group on the PC, the error is the same if I right click and run as administrator.

However if I right click and run as a different user, and user admin credentials the program loads.

I've granted the user all control of the Adobe folder in program files as well, but I'm running out of ideas.

Thanks and regards,

Paul.

Hi Pauld,

We're sorry to hear about the referenced memory error, could you please check if there are any pending Windows updates?

Also, could you try resetting the Photoshop preferences to defaults by pressing and holding Control-Shift-Alt immediately after starting Photoshop, then confirming the deletion.

Regards,
Sahil

Hi Sahil,

Windows is fully up to date, and I have reset the preferences to default, but the problem still occurs.

Regards,

Paul.

Hi

Try this workaround, it has fixed other people's issues with memory since Windows 10 1803 update

Invalid Numeric Entry - An integer between 96 and 8 is required

Hi Ged,

Thank you for that fix, but I'm afraid it didn't help in this instance,

Regards,

Paul.

Can you take a look in Event Viewer to see if there's any errors in the application log relating to Photoshop.exe

Just a thought but have you tried logging on with another Windows user account, it could be that there's an issue with the current user profile
