Hello everybody.

Using the previous versions of photoshop I was able to apply one of my custom brushes to a shape or a polygon using the path - stroke path method.

Now, with the latest version of photoshop I am not able to obtain the same result.

I am sure I am missing something, probably something very simple and silly, but someone kindly help me?

I am pretty stuck and a little bit frustratred, also.

Thank you for your time and suggestions,

Leonardo

Shape layer are Fill layers,  Empty, Solid Color, Gradient, or Pattern that has a vector layer mask.  Indicated by the shape icon in the bottom right corner of the layer content thumbnail in the layers palette   You can not Paint on a Fill Layer Or Stroke the Shape Path with a brush.  However, you can add a Vector Layer mask on a normals pixels layer. It will look like a shape layer.  However, it is a normal   Layer you can paint on its and  stroke the vector layer mask Path with a Brush.

Did like the video said but no "stroke path" option.

Again:

Could you please post screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Paths, Options Bar, …) visible?

A Shape Layer’s Path cannot be the basis for »Stroke Path« (except on an additional Layer Mask) because when it is selected a Shape Layer is selected and one cannot paint on that.

You may need to duplicate the Path and create a plain pixel Layer to apply the Stroke on.
