Applying Levels adjustment on a mask in a Curves adjustment layer

How does one apply a levels adjustment on a mask in the Curves adjustment layer as shown here? https://youtu.be/ljf8IhxqS20?si=Q_Q1shQqM3CKw8RM&t=280

When I press Cmd + L as shown in the video, it opens a new Levels adjustement layer (I am on Ps 26.2). I am using the default keyboard shortcuts (have not changed/updated what came with Ps)

Thanks in advance

Cmd + L opens a Levels adjustment (not an adjustment layer) that is acting on the Layer Mask for the Curves Adjustment Layer. If you are working with a Smart Object, the Levels adjustment will remain editable.

Thanks; hope you tried in Ps 26.2.0. It's still not working for me - clicked on the layer mask and then pressed Cmd + L. Please see attached screenshot.

an older keyboard shortcut is what was goofing things up; it's working now
