    If you mean the native Photoshop format, it's PSD (Photoshop Document). You can also save as other formats such as JPG, GIF and PNG and TIF.

    Derek thank you for your response ....is there any way to purchase the new photoshop other than renting the app out of the cloud.....i am using cs6 but the new cc is much more powerful.....

    You can only subscribe but it costs only £8.57 a month (in the UK for example), and that includes Lightroom as well as Photoshop plus the updates as they become available.

    By the way, you don't use Photoshop in the cloud, you download it to your computer and use the application in the usual way. Adobe checks online periodically (maybe once a month) that you're up-to-date with your subscription.

    You can use Photoshop on two computers – say one at work and one at home – and they can be either Mac or Windows versions (or one of each). You are not licensed to use them at the same time.
