You are correct in your assumption. CS5.5 will not run effectively and is not supported on Mojave.

You have two options:

1. Wipe her HD, reinstall Mavericks and reinstall/License CS 5.5

Install Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 or 5

2. Upgrade her licensing and software to Creative Cloud with the Educational discounts.

Thank you for the response. I relayed this information to my CTO whose followup question was, what is the earliest version of Adobe CreativeSuite that can be supported on Mojave?

Creative Cloud. No Creative Suite version is available for sale anymore anyway.
