Astropad Luna Display on Mac?

Hi, as I have a 2019 "27 iMac with a nice display and now Macbook Pro M2, I thought to avoid to accumulate additional hardware around (a new display). Therefore, I got the Luna Display dongle and the apps. I wonder if someone had found a way to get all those three working together without a hassle.

I need to say that when they do cooperate everything is fine. Usually, this takes place after a shorter or longer process. However, it happens almost regularly that when setting up all those three, I need to start and shut the primary and secondary Luna Display app a few times, put and take away the dongle a couple of times, etc. The best way to start is to boot the both Macs first. Moreover, I've met problems with Wacom Intuos a couple of times. So, comments? Regards, Tuomas

It seems that I need to talk by myself... Well, is it so that no one sees Luna Display a choice of any kind? Or why are there no comments? Has any one ever given a try? I would be happy to get some views ... Regards, Tuomas

It might be that not many here use Luna Display, though I have no way of knowing. Luna Display seems like an interesting device, from the company who created the innovative Astropad app. If you are using it through your local wifi network, my understanding of Luna Display is that it is highly dependent on the quality and stability of that wireless network environment. I know I had to upgrade my wireless router to get the best performance of some of the newer devices I have.

Not having used it myself, the only suggestions I would offer is making sure there are no issues with wireless connection or interference, trying the alternate connection methods (Ethernet, Thunderbolt, manual), and also make sure any Luna Display apps are up to date.

Especially if the problems you are having also affect applications that are not by Adobe, the best place to get Luna Display questions answered would be from that company, or if there is a forum specifically related to Luna Display.

Thanks for your comment, Conrad C! I can tell you that the wifi connection, at least shown by computers is 3+, download speeds beeing around 50-60 MB/s. Moreover, I have a Thunderbold 4 cable between Macs as well. The problem is mysterious. Therefore, I've been in contact with Astropad's support and they are involved in my issue. I guess I keep testing the system for a while, and if that doesn't work, I need to find a good display. Thanks, Tuomas

One more reply to myself, again :), just for your information. - Since my latest comment, the Luna Display apps have been updated. Moreover, I installed MacOS (Ventura) on a separate partion of iMac's SSD (to avoid possible interferences), and I've been using iMac as a display from that partion. However, I don't know if this move was decisive... The computers are attached by a Thunderbolt cable. The outcome is the following: The arrangement works fine! You may find some minute delay upon working with PS but that is no concern for me. I guess that can be a problem with video.
