Auto-Numbering text in Photoshop? How do I disable it?

Hey. It's the first time I struggle with this, weirdly, but I try to put in a list in a text box and it auto-numbers the list like in Word or Notes or something. I definitely don't want that but I can't find ANYWHERE how to disable it and write my own text with my own numbers without auto-formatting. How do I?

In Settings>Type, Uncheck "Automatic detection of Bulleted and Numbered Lists while typing"

I'm on 25.9.1 and this has been resolved in the public release (it may still be in the beta).

sorry, this is not true. i just updated to 25.9.1 and the issue is still there. it makes me want to never use photoshop ever again. It's inexcusable this should happen. it's just really poor programming

With the Text tool selected, open the Paragraph tab and make sure that Bullets and Numbering are both toggled off.

There is no answer. That's the exoisting discussion and Adobe employee post. That's it.
