I'm trying to switch the background using background generative fill. Unfortunately, it distorts the subject in photoshop.

  1. I select the subject
  2. I invert
  3. I type in a prompt with a different background
  4. I get a distorder subject
  5. 😕😕

The selection of the subject is pretty good, I'm on latest version on MacOS- I've tried:

- Making it "perfect"

- Expanding the selection a few pixels

- Using latest beta

- Reinstalling evertthing

HELP!

Hey, @juan35672845mifa. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll move this to discussion for now & help you figure this out.

Please share the screenshot & system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text document > upload & attach here.

I'll recommend an alternate approach to this task.

1 - Create the background on a separate document using Generative Fill.

2 - Select the subject from the original document & drag the layer to the background document.
3 - Go to Filters > Neural Filters > Harmonize to blend using Adobe Sensei. (https://adobe.ly/43bX1K2)

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks!

P.S. I saw your Reddit post & you know what you're doing. So, I've suggested a slightly different route.
