Background removal

I’m trying to remove background of an image but it’s not working

What version of Photoshop are you using?

• It appears that you are on a type layer that may or may not have text on it.
• Layer 0 is locked with a mask. What did you do so far to remove the background?

If you want to select and remove white area on Layer 0 use Magic Wand tool and default settings as on screenshot below. Ensure that Layer 0 is unlocked, without mask and selected in the Layers panel.

Click on white area to select whites, go to Select > Inverse then click on Add layer mask.
