Hi all,
I noticed a bug with the Bahnschrift font ( standard in win10)
With most weights in the font-family there are problems with scrabbling the positions of the letters( or numbers). If you set the text back to horizontal, the problem is gone.
There are a few condensed weights that will keep everything in the right order, but most of the rest is broken/bugged.
Anyone else noticed this?
Kind regards,
Rob
My PS version is 22.3.1

I suggest to use the original/real «Bahnschrift» called DIN:

Do you use the VERTICAL Type tool or just turn around horizontal Text?
And: Does it really have to be Photoshop for this task?

Thanks for the reply.
The original is a German industry norm from the'70's ....And it is free... I learned to draw it 20 years ago.
(So I think it is pretty outrageous that a company dares to ask that amount of money for just one weight...)
I used both and both give me the same result..
And yes, I need PS for this, it is a texture that I am making and you can see the different between Bahnschrift and Arial ( for example)
So still a bug...

But who are you trying to blame? The Photoshop team, the fontmakers, …?
Can you post screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Character, Paragraph, Options Bar, …) visible to clarify the issue?

Not blaming anyone, just reporting a bug..

This is not the place to report bugs, even if they were Photoshop bugs; this is a user Forum.

As you said, this typeface is from Microsoft. Reading further, I see it was built by Aaron Bell of Saja Typeworks and is Microsoft's first variable font.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/typography/font-list/Bahnschrift
The bugs in the typeface should be reported to Microsoft or directly to Aaron Bell. I found the webpage for Saja Typeworks, and it includes a Contact form. You might use that to report the bugs.

To report bugs for the Photoshop developers, you can do that here: https://feedback.photoshop.com/
I still think you might start with Aaron, who designed the type!

Thank you Jane.
I have contacted Saja Typeworks.
The bug is quite easy, typ in something random in a font ( using vertical text or change it later)
Then change the text to bahnschrift and you see the text in quasi-random order appear.
But some condensed versions will show the text correct.
Takes two minutes to test it...

The place for Photoshop Bug Reports and Feature Requests is

but I am far from sure this is a Photoshop bug.
