Batch Channel Packing Textures

Hi,

I am trying to automate batch channel packing textures for use in 3D applications. Basically, I want to take a large batch of textures with various channel packing types such as [texturename)]_BC, [texturename)]_R, [texturename)]_RMA, [texturename)]_ARM, etc and re-pack the channels into [texturename)]_BC_AO and  [texturename)]_N_H_R based on the file name. The issue I'm having is the import and organization based on the file name. Are there any tools or scripts I can use with the record actions and batch automation in Photoshop to achieve this sort of result? Thanks

Please post before/after screenshots of the channels, layers or other pertinent interface elements to clearly illustrate your post.

Examples of real filenames and perhaps sample files at reduced resolution would also help.

How are the input files stored? One folder or multiple folders per channel type?

How do files open and sort? Alphabetical or otherwise?

What colour mode, file format and naming are combined images saved in?

Thanks, that sort of helps a little bit, however, I'm going to need step-by-step instructions to script this.
