Batch Process different for tif files on two different computers - problem with saving the files

I recently did a clean install of Windows 11 on a computer. I installed the latest PS without importing any old settings or presets.

I created an action and ran a folder full of images through batch processing through it. Everything worked as expected. I chose "Save and Close" for these tif files and the files were overwritten with the action's processes applied. By the way, there are no "save" or "close" commands in the action.

I did a clean install of the latest PS on another computer (again, no imported presets or settings). I loaded a folder with the tif files mentioned above (don't ask why, it's to do with an issue with 3rd party software) onto this new computer.

I created an action in PS and attempted to run these tif files through it with batch processing.

The first anamoly was that the first image triggered Camera Raw. It's a tif file so I wouldn't expect this behavior (it didn't occur on the other computer). To stop this from getting in the way of the batch process, I ticked the box next to "Supress file open dialogue boxes". That solved the ACR problem.

The action ran as expected, but when it finished a "Save as" box opened and asked where to save the file. It also had a PSD as the "Save as type". The batch process is set to "Save and close" and there is no save or close command in this new action.

I want this other instance of PS to act as the first: save and overwrite the tif file in its current location. Any guess on why or how this is happening?

Thanks in advance.

Have you checked that your Preferences > File Handling > File Saving Options are the same on both installations

Check your Camera Raw preferences are set to ignore opening TIFF files which contain Camera Raw settings.
