Does anyone know a good way to touch up this grass....leaving some of the texure but reducing all of the blemishes and uneveness? I looked at the average filter but it seems way too destructive. Is there a better way than painting, cloning and the patch tool? Thanks for your help.

Look up Frequency Separation, that's probably where I would start.

Did you try content aware?

So I've played with frequency seperation and content aware, but I still find the patch tool to be the best but very time consuming to do. I know what I want to do sounds like frequency seperation should do the trick so I'll keep playing. There isn't a way to invert the area and subtract it making the area a bit more uniform?
