Best workflow/ for adding audio to photoshop timeline

I have a simple animated gif (8 frames) and need to add audio to the timeline and output as MP4 file that will post to internet site. What would be the best audio file format for this task? Thanks!

Just drop an mp3 into the timeline (which will need to be a video timeline not a frame animation timeline. It is going to be compressed anyway in the mp4 file and Photoshop offers very limited control over audio
