Blend If Challenge

Hey community, hoping to find some help with using blend if and blending modes to achieve this look while using the fewest amount of layers possible.

I have a layer stack that has solid color, texture set to linear light, and pure white text that I'm trying to apply. using blend if on the text layer brings the texture through, which is good, but then also shows the color of the layer beneath, which is bad. I need to destaurate the text somehow without using a mask, just in case I need to transform or change the text later on. The goal is for the text to blend with the texture, but desaturate the color from beneath

Attaching a screenshot of my current layer stack.

for anyone interested in this, this was my eventual solve. instead of a blend if, I opted for a solid color fill set to 90%B, clipped to the smart object, allowing the overlay blend mode of the texture layer above to affect everything. this way the build is self contained if the contents or transform of the smart object changes later. cheers!

Yeah, »Overlay« is another option.

In certain circumstances applying the Filter on a 50% gray Smart Object and setting that to the Blend Mode »Linear Light« and 50% Fill might suffice.

If the text is always a smart object, try this using a copy of the smart object.
