Previously when adding a border to my image using Photoshop, I was allowed to choose the color of the border. Now, it won't allow me to choose the color. How can I change it so I can choose the border color?

Could you please post a screenshot to illustrate the issue?

@mrsammy

It sounds like you may have been using the Image > Canvas Size command on a flattened image (only a single Background layer) where you would set the Canvas Extension Colour, which isn’t available for a floating layer.

Hi!

How do you add the border?

One way to add a border is to use the Stroke function in Layer Styles. With an object selected, double click on the layer, and the Layer Styles dialog will pop open. Choose Stroke and on the right side, select the size or weight, the color, and the opacity. See the image below.

If that works--great. If not, please give us a description of the steps you go through to create the border so we can help you find it!

Using the old school Select All, Edit > Stroke is working as it always has for me:
