Brush icon/cursor is frozen

Hi,

My brush icon/cursor keeps freezing whenever I move it over my document. I can still paint with it by following where my cursor is located by following the notches on the rulers but this is extremely difficult, especially when masking.

I've made sure that my painting cursor is set to Normal Brush Tip and I've also tried having the 'Shake mouse to locate' option on and off but nothing happens.

Thanks

PS. Mac user

Does turning off »Use Graphics Processor« in the Performance Preferences (Photoshop > Preferences > Performance > Graphic Processor Settings) and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?

What have you done for trouble-shooting so far?

Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:

Hi everyone.

I have the same issue for a long time. Brush tool working but "circle" cursor freezing while I increase the brush size.

I tried everything - unistalling Photoshop, resetting preferences, disconnecting bluetooth devices (including mouse and keyboard), and nothing's changed.

This problem showing both on internal display and on the external BenQ's monitor connected via HDMI.

For a while problem was gone while I deleted Wacom drivers, but the next day problem returned.

It's very annoying issue and making me crazy.

I'm a Mac User - MBP 16, M1 Max, 64GB RAM - if it's help to solve the problem.

Thanks.

I've been having this same issue for nearly a year now and its doing my head in. I cant paint or work as fast as I used to. Wish Adobe would address it. I've seen several different threads in relation to this and nothings been done.

Jarrod, have you tried asking for help on this?  It's nearly always better to start a new thread with this sort of issue.

Are you using a Mac?  If yes what OS version?

Is your tablet a Wacom?
