Brush not working in Select & Mask

   Yesterday all was well as I used S&M to edit color to a B/W photo.   Today the brush tool does not work at all.  To my knowledge I changed nothing.  I can still edit with the brush in the regular work space.

   My mode remains set to RGB color.

  PS 25.12.0   Win 11

Hey, @lanecito. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. Before troubleshooting, please update Photoshop to v26 via the Creative Cloud desktop app. 

Does this happen when you use any image? Please share the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text document > upload & attach here. 

 

Press and hold the ALT key in the Select & Mask workspace to change the Cancel Button to Reset. Once you reset, relaunch Photoshop and check if it helps.

Hi Sameer, I also have the same problem. I have v26. Did you mean the cancel button on the right bottom corner ? And that should change to Reset? I pressed the Alt key for almost 3 mins, but the cancel button did not change into reset. Am I hunting at a wrong place?
