brush opacity for scripting

Engaged ,
Mar 04, 2010 Mar 04, 2010

Hi everyone!

I want to change opacity of brush relatively, similar to what Photoshop have for brush size, so I could just increase/ decrease opacity.

Script listener doesn't 'hear' changes in brush opacity so I wonder if there is a way somehow to accomplish this.

Thanks!

Just 95% of the time - there are much better less involved solutions

Those of us that have been here for awhile almost always recommend Actions (with Batch) as the first choice.

If Action don't do what you need, use scripting.

If scripting doesn't do what you need, write a custom plugin.

If a custom plugin doesn't do what you need, you've got a hardcore problem 🙂

Other alternatives that I've used and recommend are keyboard macro apps (like AutoKey on WinXP) for driving the PS interface,

exiftool for fiddling with metadata, or irfanview for automated processing of 'partially' corrupt jpegs. (PS tends to choke on

jpegs with certain types of errors that irfan can cope with. It doesn't have a mechanism to tell it to make a best-effort recovery

when using Batch or via scripting).
