Brush setting that only paints light or dark areas?

I remember enabling a setting a while back that allowed me to use the brush to only paint light areas and leave dark areas alone, and vice versa. However, I have forgotten where and what it was. Can someone please remind me what it's called and how to get there? Thank you.
