Brush that has diminishing opacity

Is it possible to create a brush using brush settings that visibly runs out of opacity (paint) during the course of a stroke?  Will 'Fade' help with this?

    Yes Fade does that. You may have to do some experimenting to get the value for fade just right. I will usually set up a path and stroke that, so the stroke will be in the same position every time until I get the Fade value just so.

      Many thanks.  I'll experiment.  I am particularly keen to see if I can make my art history brush brushes diminish convincingly, but I guess the brush directions are too chaotic to work with them.
