I go through all of the steps to turn the brush on and nothing - literally nothing - happens. I'm on a mac and am wondering what I am doing wrong.  It is not rocket science.  You select the brush tool, hold down your finger on the pad and paint.  Nothing.  Help!!!

Hi,

Which version of photoshop and mac os x are you using?

There could be several causes like having the Brush Tool Mode set to something other than Normal.

You could post a screenshot of the Brush Tool settings in the tool options bar, but it would probably just be easier to Reset the Brush Tool.

With the Brush Tool selected, right click on the Big Brush icon (just below the Apple icon) in the tool options bar and click on Reset Tool.

Thank you. I will try that. I really appreciate you responding.

I can get the spot healing to work but the brush doesn’t do anything.

It’s photoshop CC 2017? I’m not sure how to tell which version it is as I am just now getting familiar with it. And mac OS 10.12.1

Had no trouble in Lightroom but this one has me stumped. I’ve tried doing a reverse mask overlay to see if there was something I was missing but there is absolutely no affect on my pics with the brush tool.

Thanks again!

Rhonda
