Question

Brush tools, pressure sensitivity, pen/eraser side button not working

I have an XP-Pen 22r and none of my photoshop brush tools are working. When I enable/disable pressure sensitivity, nothing changes, the pen/eraser side button doesn't switch, and I can't find the brush that I always use anymore. (I can't remember what it was called, but it was shaped like a really stretched out lemon in the preview drop menu. I wish I could describe it better than that.) It feels like photoshop has been reduced to the most basic of digital drawing apps. I've tried resetting all my tools already which did nothing. All the XP-Pen drivers are working properly and it all seems to be working properly, which leads me to believe photoshop is the issue here and not my tablet and stylus.

Does anyone have any idea what I can do without resorting to completely uninstalling and reinstalling photoshop or God forbid, the whole creative cloud?

Hi there,

We are sorry about the experience with Photoshop. Would you mind sharing the version of Photoshop you are using along with your computers operating system? Since when are you facing this issue?

You can try resetting the preferences of Photoshop using the steps mentioned here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html

Please backup you settings prior to resetting the preferences. You can check: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preset-migration.html

Regards,

Nikunj

I am using V 21.1.2 (updated 9 days ago) with Windows, and today is the first time I've used it with this update, and I haven't been able to get it back the way it was when I last used it in March.
