Bug: Curved lines become made up of straight lines

I draw artwork quite a lot - and I have this issue that comes and goes, where when trying to draw curved lines, they straighten out into several straight lines to make up curves. Clearly as shown above, it looks terrible. Is there anything specific that causes this? (I use a Wacom Intuos Pro Small tablet, but this happens both with the tablet and even when just throwing the strokes around with my mouse, so it's not the hardware).

Check your brush settings - Two things affect this Smoothing and Spacing.

The top stroke has Smoothing off and spacing at default 25%.

The lower stroke has Smoothing on and spacing at 1%
