🧨 Bug Report – Photoshop v26.6.1 Immediate Crash on Ctrl+X (Cut)

Photoshop 26.6.1 is literally unusable — pressing Ctrl + X causes an instant crash. Are you kidding me?

This isn’t a beta build — it’s a production version. Why is a basic shortcut from the 1980s breaking your flagship software in 2025?

Stop stuffing AI garbage into every release and start fixing your core bugs. No professional wants “Generative Fill” if the app can’t even cut a selection without crashing.

It’s embarrassing.

Hi Hong

Welcome to this friendly forum. Please note you are not addressing Adobe on here, it's a user-to-user support forum.

Re your crashing issue, like Ged, I've just tested it too and had no issues. Have you reset the Photoshop preferences as suggested, if so, did that resolve the issue? If not indicate your (exact) version of your Operating System, how much RAM you have and how much spare hard disk capacity.

@Hong320221674yem  I've check this on my system and I can't reproduce this. So I think it depends on your system.

Do the issue occurs at all images or only on one?

Do you have done the resetting of the preferences as @Ged_Traynor wrote?

If this doesn't help if your system is up-to-date. Make sure that you have installed all recent updates and patches for the operating system and the device drivers, especially the graphic driver. If you have a NVidia graphic card installed, make sure that you are using the recent Studio version of the driver, not the Game Ready version.

Please provide a copy of your 'System Info'. This can be get from the Photoshop menu item Help > System Info. There's a copy button in the System Info dialog. Press this button and paste the info into your next forum post.

My System: Intel i7-8700K - 64GB RAM - NVidia Geforce RTX 3060 - Windows 11 Pro 25H2 -- LR-Classic 15 - Photoshop 27 - Nik Collection 8 - PureRAW 6 - Topaz Photo AI

@Hong320221674yem I'm not experiencing the issue on my system with Photoshop version 26.6.1 on Windows 11, have you tried manually resetting your Photoshop preferences

Remember to back up your settings before doing the preference reset
