I have a problem with the brush tool not being active when I press the B shortcut, it keeps switching back to my previous tool.

Did you try turning off »Spring-loaded Tool Shortcuts« completely?

Turn on "Use Shift Key for Tool Switch"

You'll have to go out of your way to switch it which I find better.

That seems unrelated to the issue described in the original post.

Cory, sorry for the delay in getting back to you. It is a bug, and its happening more often with whatever tool I´m actually using, i hit the shortcut once and it automatically switches back. I do know there is a feature where you keep the tool on holding the key but its not it. For instance if I´m with the brush tool selected and want to switch to the eraser tool pressing E on the keyboard, it does change, but as soon my finger left the keyboard it changes back. I do not hold the key, i just press and release. I believe there is an issue with that feature on MAC OS 12.5.1 which is the one I´m using. Is there anyway to disable this behavior/feature?

Happening to me as well. Very frustrating. No fixes yet?

As @c.pfaffenbichler said, turning off Spring Loaded Tool in preferences solved the problem.

Tks for reaching out Cory. It is wierd indeed. Its happening from time to time, and I did not messed with the Springboard time. Its default. My Workflow does not rely on this new feature. Im still old school that just press the key to switch between tools. When It happens again I´ll try this workaround and see if it fixes it. Thanks.

Hi @Ricardo Nakazawa sorry to hear this.

Curious if you have tried changing the springboard keyboard shortcuts time? By default it is set to 200ms which is what it has been for years so if that doesn't work for your workflow, increase the timing or uncheck that option so that spring-loaded keyboard shortcuts are disabled if that fits your workflow.

Thank you,
