bulleted and numbered lists crashing

Photoshop v26.5 on Windows 11 - 24H2

Having a serious issue with Photoshop crashing. This is only for files that I have been working on for the past three days. When I open the file, it has an alert that says "Some text layers may need to be updated before they can be used for vector based output. Do you want to update these layers?" It doesn't matter whether I click No or Update. Both options crash Photoshop. The problem layers are those that have the bulleted and numbered lists. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, installing previous versions. Etc. This is not affecting older files of mine that also utilize the lists feature. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks for commenting! I have submitted multiple crash reports with no response. It is happening for every new document I create, whether I save it in the cloud or on my local drive. I've tried clearing my CT Font Cache with no luck.

Hi, we've rolled out an update for Photoshop (version 26.6) today. Could you try updating the app to check if you still experience the same behavior? You can check out: https://adobe.ly/42LSOgg

Let us know how it goes!
Thanks,
Nikunj

Sorry to hear about the crash! To help us investigate further, could you please share a few additional details:

  • A crash report: Submit a crash report

  • Is the issue specific to this file?

  • Have you tried adding bullets and numbering in a new file—does it crash there too?

  • Where is the file saved (e.g., local drive, network, or cloud storage)?

  • If the issue seems to be limited to this file, would you be able to share it with us? We’ll try recovering it on our end.

Thanks!

Srishti
