Question

Business-Edition(1): Text all over the place.

I'm using a back up copy of Adobe's Photoshop Business-Edition, 1, I got from a back-up CD I made, like, in '99 or '00, on Windows XP.   The problem is, when I save to a .gif, .jpg or, .bmp, I get repeats of the any text, all over the image.

Is there a missing file?   I only copied it on my computer, not installed it.

Most likely it's Adobe PhotoDeluxe Business Edition circa 1998 or so.

What version of Windows are you using?

Undoubtedly some files that are installed in other places on the drive that are required for PhotoDeluke to function properly are missing.

TRANSLATION:  I'm trying to hack 25-year-old disk software by copying random files from the CD to a modern computer system.  Why isn't it working?

I don't know.  Maybe because it's an obsolete app that was never designed to work on modern equipment?

Nope; I actually have the CD, some where, and this is a back-up I made and I'm running it on a desktop I created and used XP for the sole purpose of using my older programs. I don't want the latest-version: I was perfectly happy with the first-edition on my older-machines.

Find the original installer disk that contains all the files needed to run the installation routine.

@v._9651

What do you mean by Adobe's Photoshop Business Edition? I don't recall a version with the name. Can you tell us the exact version (Help > About)?

Where did you purchase a license to use Photoshop and when?

You were on XP then, what is your OS now?

Jane

I'm using XP now, on a desktop for Photoshop BE.

I agree with Jeff that what you have is probably Adobe PhotoDeluxe, which was later replaced with Photoshop Elements.

Possibly the Experts in the Photoshop Elements forum used PhotoDeluxe formerly. Do you want us to move your thread there to see if they can assist?

You said you copied the application. You might need to install it on your XP computer.

Also, what is the exact version?
