Hi there, bit of a greenhorn here. I have just purchased a Nikon D500 and CS6 won’t open the Raw files. I’ve been told to download dng converter 9.5 but now my MacBook isn’t able to Update to os 10.11 to run that either. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I really cant afford to upgrade laptop either but using Raw is vital to me. Thanks in advance.

The 9.12.1 dng converter is listed as the last dng converter to run on mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite and that will convert the Nikon D500 nefs to dng copies which photoshop cs6 should open.

Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Macintosh : Adobe DNG Converter 9.12.1

What year mac and model do you have?

Hi Use the latest DNG convertor here.

Digital Negative (DNG), Adobe DNG Converter | Adobe Photoshop CC

The converted files will work fine with the latest Camera Raw version compatible with CS6 which is 9.1.1 :

    Camera Raw plug-in installer

    Hi

I can't test it for you, as I am on a Windows PC, but as far as I am aware the DNG convertor should run fine
