Camera Raw not opening edited photo in photoshop.

Question

After the most recent update, camera raw no longer opens the edited photo in photoshop by clicking the open option, normal open or smart object option.    When I click open it just goes back to Adobe Bridge main screen.  I then have to right click open with Photoshop, it will open camera raw again, and then if I click open it finally opens in PS.   Why am I having to go thru these extra steps to open in PS?

In the first case, you are opening Camera Raw hosted by Bridge. This doesn't work.

In the second case, you are opening Camera Raw hosted by Photoshop. This works. You can confirm this by simply double-clicking the file in Bridge, which will launch Camera Raw hosted by Photoshop.

The Camera Raw plugin itself is shared between the applications. In other words, this sounds to me like a Bridge problem. I'd uninstall Bridge, clear the preference folder, and reinstall it. Make sure to click "yes" when it asks to activate scripts when you first launch Bridge again.
